2009-2010 Class Sessions
Children are placed in a class based on his/her age and developmental level. You have several options within each class to enroll your child. First, determine which class your child belongs in based on his or her birthday, then choose which set of days you'd like them to attend.

Two's and Three's Class: This class is intended for children who will be at least 2 1/2 by December 1, 2009. This is a mixed-age group class for children who are between the ages of 2 1/2 and 3 1/2. Children who are experiencing their first year of preschool are encouraged to choose the Tuesday/Thursday option. Children who have an extra year of preschool before starting kindergarten, or who are 3 1/2 by December 1st, are encouraged to choose the M/W/F or Monday-Friday option. Diapering service will be offered. Class runs from 9:15-11:45 am.

"My Toddler and Me": This class is intended as a first school experience for children ages 15 months to 3 years old. Children attend this two hour class with a parent or caregiver one day a week.

Tuition is discounted for families with two or more children attending at the same time. Your second child receives a 25% discount off the regular tuition rate. this discount applies to the lesser tuition rate and does not apply to the "My Toddler and Me" program.
If you decide to enroll your child, you can secure his or her place by completing an "Application for Enrollment" and submitting it to our office with a $60.00 non-refundable registration fee.
CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Two's and Three's Class 2 ½ by December 1, 2009
This class is geared towards reinforcing children social skills. Children learn to play and share with others, develop listening skills and foster a sense of self worth and self-confidence. They listen to short stories, sing songs and learn through discovery and play. Through these activities, children also have a chance to play with others their own age and make new friends. This class is structured to help our youngest students adapt to their new environment and thrive during this important developmental transition. As the year progresses, the children will begin working on activities that focus more on attention span development. the stories become a little longer and the concept of calendar is explored. They practice fine motor skills, such as cutting with scissors and ripping paper.
Generally, children who are new to Church Street and who are 2 1/2 are encouraged to choose the Tues/Thur option. Children who are in their second year of preschool or who are closer to 3 1/2 may choose the M/W/F or Mon-Fri option.
Pre-Kindergarten Class 4 years old by December 1, 2009 "My Toddler and Me" 15 months to 3 years old This class is for children to attend with their parent or caregiver. It is a two-hour class that meets one day a week. The coordinator for this program interacts with the children and provides story, art projects and snack. The children also have free play in the classroom and on the playground. It is a perfect “first school” experience. We have found that it provides a smooth transition into our "Twosome's" class. Parents enjoy the class as much as the children; it is a great way to meet new people and make friends. Parents purchase a punch card with five or 10 prepaid sessions. There's no expiration date, come every week or once a month, whatever your schedule allows.
This class is geared specifically for children who are accustomed to the preschool environment and who are going to kindergarten next year. This class focuses a great deal on various skills required for kindergarten. They learn to count, identify letters and write their names more accurately. Teachers in this class concentrate on
expanding the social and emotional skills introduced in previous years. Children
learn to work cooperatively within a group. They explore the calendar more in-depth, sharpen their fine and large motor skills and develop expressive language.
